Coppersmith Street – Bašćaršija
Sarajevo has an old part of its city or the Baščaršija, the heart of Sarajevo. Baščaršija is home to one of the oldest streets that is the Kazandžiluk, or the Coppersmith Street. You walk through this street and it feels like you are in another century, like you are back to the 16th century. You will see men working or guilding metalwork, jewelry and pottery.
We walked into a few stores and I didn’t know what store was better, or what I’m trying to say is which shop keeper is more talented. If you are looking for a souvenir in Sarajevo then the Coppersmith Street is the place you need to be at! I bought a Bosnian coffee set, because it was just what I imagined a present for my mom would be, in one of these sets you can get a džezva, a large matte brushed copper pot and I got six separate small coffee cups they call them ‘fildžan’ here in Bosnia.

It was amazing to see that a tradition that was left from the Ottoman Empire was still quiet alive and in business in the heart of Sarajevo.
